Strikingly can be a useful starting point for a small website, but a responsive template is only the beginning. Before choosing a platform, write down what visitors need to do: understand the offer, compare services or products, and reach you. Then build one representative page with your real content.

Test the content in the layout

Try your longest heading, actual product or service names, and the photographs you intend to use. A demo page can look balanced while the real copy wraps awkwardly or the key subject disappears in a mobile crop. Review the first screen and the full page on a phone.

Check the mobile editing workflow

Strikingly provides a phone view in its editor. Its help centre says changes made in that view also affect the desktop site. The separate phone app can edit and manage sites, but some sections and settings still require desktop editing. Plan to review both layouts after every significant change rather than assuming one preview covers the other.

Walk through the whole visitor task

  • Can a new visitor tell what the business offers?
  • Are navigation labels, buttons and form fields clear on a small screen?
  • Do images show the product or work without an accidental crop?
  • Does the enquiry or purchase path work from start to finish?

If the site needs complex store behaviour or custom integrations, list those requirements before committing to a template. The best fit depends on the content, maintenance needs and the action customers should take.
